Top Upcoming UTV competitions for 2016

You may enjoy taking your UTV out for fun on the weekends with friends and family, but did you know there are also other options to take your riding to the next level? UTV competitions are a great way to not only show off your skills but especially your machine. If you think your Kawasaki or Polaris is the best UTV in its category, why not give it a try? UTV competitions mean bragging rights and a chance to pick up great prizes. It doesn’t matter if you normally ride for fun or to hunt; competition riding is a whole new world to explore. And spring is an ideal time to throw your hat in the ring! Here are just a few of the upcoming UTV competitions around the country. Camp Coker Bullet On April 30 through May 1 at Society Hill in South Carolina you can enter the CST Camp Coker Bullet competition. For $20 riders 12 and up can experience a new venue to the world of GNCC racing. With 2,000 acres of land and soil a little on the sandy side, you’ll have an added challenge at this popular race destination. Limestone 100 Jet to Springville, Indiana the Limestone 100 on May 14 and 15 for a co-sanctioned race with Indiana Cross Country Racing. The race is at the Lawrence County Recreation Facility. Because it is a riding park, there are plenty of trails and extra room giving you a lot of variety throughout the course. The Wiseco, John Penton On May 28 and 29 why not take a trip to Millfield, Ohio for the Wiseco, John Penton competition? The competition is at a motocross track called the Sunday Creek Raceway. Weather will be a big factor with this race so be sure to plan ahead. You may have very dry conditions or wet and muddy. The clay in Ohio is pretty slick and sticky, giving you very little traction but a lot of sticky mud to deal with on your UTV. If this sounds like a challenge not a deterrent, than this race is for you! Dunlop Tomahawk After you finish up in Ohio, head further east to Odessa, New York for the Dunlop Tomahawk competition. On June 11 and 12 this co-sanctioned with the Western New York Offroad Association is a favorite to many. In past years races at this property were named the “Best Hare Scramble of the Year” in 2012. If you plan to bring family and friends there is plenty of space for parking and camping. If you choose the Dunlop Tomahawk you can expect a fast-paced grass track with flowing trails. It’s mostly flat, but you’ll get a few gentle rolling hills. As in Ohio, it can get a little slick when wet but with the proper accessories that might just make your UTV competition that much more enjoyable.
